Peter

I have been approached for the position in the title of this thread. What kind of ballpark package should I be aiming for?

Not FTSE but seem to know more than you to Peter (#1)

Presumably you would be sitting on/reporting to the Executive Board, rather than the plc board.

So, get off your backside, do some thinking, and check the details of the renumeration packages paid to Exec Board members that will be contained in the annual financial report (as such details are always reported to the LSE).

That could, like, er, give you a ballpark of your peers or immediate superiors.

Your lack of drive to find the answers for yourself and/or ignorance of listed companies is astonishing. If you truly have been approached then you'll be out of your depth, based on this evidence anyway.

Dear “Not FTSE but seem to know more than you”,

Your reply is based around an erroneous premise; namely that I am basing my research solely on this forum. I’m not, rest assured, so you’ll need to find a different target to vent your “I hate my life of custard creams and Travelodge” ire.

What kind of ballpark package?

Front-row season tickets - a box would be asking too much until you're a Director.

Bear in mind that most FTSE100's are cutting back on these things in the current climate - it's not a great time to be making a career choice on the basis of the perks.

"it's not a great time to be making a career choice on the basis of the perks."

yes it is, as the best of a bad bunch in terms of perks can only get better as the economy picks up.

Well, not really. As the economy picks up, all firms have an opportunity to do well. However, those that have spent the lean years haemorrhaging their spare cash on free staff creches and on-site hairdressers will be less likely to have survived or be in a position to push for growth. Besides which, you inevitably trade cash for benefits and rarely see the full value of them unless you actively work the system - a fulltime job in itself.
