#1 KPIs for IT consultant

Does any expert out here throw some light from own experience about the following -

What are key performance measures for a particular IT consultant ? I know this depends a lot on project, and I havd worked nearly 6 years in an IT industry mostly as software development side.

I am particularly interested in knowing how do you keep your boss happy in pureplay IT consulting industry, so as to get quick annual promotions to become partner is say 8 years starting from C2?

Tintin to anon (#1)

Utilisation is king at lower levels - Manager or less

Sales and not screwing up delivery of large programmes is the KPI for Snr Manager and above.

Everything else is BS

Utilisation is king...hmmm

Any idiot can look good on a timesheet. And timesheets are at least 33% fiction anyway.

Firms who take utilisation is king get the results and people they deserve. Low margin temping agency. Great stuff, makes you proud.
