How to get a Management Team for a Business

#1 How to get a Management Team for a Business

Wondering

Can you help? What is the best way to get a Management Team (MT) together when sourcing finance for a business idea? One of the big questions when presenting a business plan and an idea is who is the MT and what skills and expereince do they have? and what is their role? Since I have come up and developed the idea ('net' based) myself I have not included anyone else to-date, further those people who I know are like me, PM's or BA's with 5 to 10 years expereince and therefore not going to be the big draw that many investors are looking for. Can anyone help with getting the MT together and how to go about? Much appreciate your help.

Dr. Heinz B. Ohmen

Dear Sir,

your problem is a common one. I know how difficult it is to find the right people they know how to set up a business and how to finance it and more. Take a look at my homepage and you get a much better impression what I can do for your business idea.

Let me know how we can proceed.

1. I would suggest the broadest possible definition of the MT as you would like to get involvement and commitment. 2. We have had success with taking MTs into the African wilderness (bei Ihnen in Deutschl. Hütte im Wald?)and utilizing rudimentary team building techniques to facilitate options to be investigated. (Last weekend we had participants read "Who stole my Cheese" (basic but excellent) to illustrate the need for change or face the inevitable. (Hope this is what you wanted) Mit freundlichem Gruß. OK. Got it 2nd time round. How about big-name experienced interim Manager core who join you at some form of risk or for a share of initial finance, whilst your team "understudies" them for an acceptable period of time. These "big-names" should progressively play a more distant role after completing a predetermined milestone and could thereafter be retained for QA purposes. (As meinem vorigen Vorschlag: bleiben Sie also doch lieber dem Wald oder oder der afrikanischen Savannah fern) Mfg. Hein Daiber

Nev

Try 'Business Angels', also - talk to your local Chamber of Commerce; local IMC Branch; and people in 'futures' or venture capital markets.. Set up a company, protect your idea, and recruit a non-exec on to your board with a business track record (try IoD for suggested names).

Wondering,

Nevs, ides below are quite good, however what I would do would be to make some contacts throught your existing friends/network. They might in turn be able to put you in touch with some high brow people, i.e. either venture capitalist keen to back an idea or sucessful proven buisiness men willing to put their name to the company in return for a vested interest. I am at least 5-7 off setting up my own business, however I am already making the kind of contacts I will need. Its great to have 'an idea' but putting it into practice sometimes takes years of preparation unless it so revloutionary that it demands imeadiate interest.

E.G. a friend of mine has recent set up his own business. He has several CEO's and even a Lord on his board some of whom are close friends of his now. He set the wheels turning 8 years ago.

.....YOU NEED TO PLAN!!
