Given the current economic climate I was wondering which industry would consultants would like to focus on and why?

Normally the answer would be financial services but with job cuts looming and things not looking so rosy I am wondering if people would still say the same?

I specialise in wireless telecoms and quite enjoy it. I see this as quite recession proof as I think the mobile phone has become such a part of people's lives that they would rather give up most other things first. Money-wise telecoms isn't the greatest payer though...

Energy, maybe. There are a wide range of "ho" issues there, both upstream and downstream, and clients have money for consulting right now.
