On a slightly serious note, what with the ever escalating cost on wholesale food and ever more importance on increasing yields via operational excellence and efficiency, there certaintly is a strong demand for agricultural consulting services, particularly within the developing world where difficulties accessing more improved technologies and inefficient operational processes are going to be a impediment for realising growth and wealth.

Bain has started to offer services within this area, but most of it is focussed towards not-for-profit organisations and governmental services. Mck and Celerant are also looking into it, but beleive that the current gyrations on prices are more attributable towards irrationality and profligacy rather than solid supply/demand fundamentals

Acn Charlatan,

Have you got a recommendation for the best technical architecture for an agriculture specific ERP system?
