A move to consulting from industry - 2 questions

#1 A move to consulting from industry - 2 questions

BS

Hi

I would value advice on two topics.

1) I am looking to move to consulting, probably to a FS niche firm, from a banking / building society background. I have 11 years experience in senior marketing and change roles, having led significant change programmes. I left FS on a basic near to £70k. What sort of level should I aim to enter consulting at? Manager or Principle?

2) I live in the South West, but am happy to have a london base. However I may be seriously out of pocket on days when I need to travel to the london office. Would you a) build this into salary expectations, or 2) negatiate being home based and therefore being able to claim expences for london visits?

Would appreciate any views.

Kind regards...
