I have a web based business idea which now needs to go to the next stage - funding and development. I know what I want and have extensive planning for the business. The marketing and income side is very strong. Being a BA/PM myself I know what to do, how it needs to be done and what the expected outcome is, however not the skills to put it into action. The idea is to cover 5 major areas of which 3 can and will make a substanbtial income. Each can come online over time, and the first if done right could be operational and generating an income within a month of development.
I now need to find the 'seed' finance to bring this idea to development. If anyone knows of ways to find this or those to even approach then I would appreciate your help. I know most of the VC sites around the world and Angel companies. However I want to broaden my potential options and see who and what else is out there.
Much appreicated, Chris.

The good news is that you can get plenty of free advice about sources of funding and how to prepare your business case. Your local Business Link should be able to point you in the right direction. Where I live in Yorkshire, we have an organisation called Connect Yorkshire that specialises in grooming high-tech startups and leading them through the funding process. You might also like to attend an event such as Venturefest, where high-tech entrepreneurs and investors meet and network. The next one is in York on 5th February 2004. See http://www.venturefestyork.net.
