Dear All,
Can anyone tell me if applying for positions through Company Career Website works? I somehome am getting a feeling that if you simply apply through the website no one looks at it and after certain time an automated mail comes back saying No.
Pls tell me if this worked for you and for which company? I am new to London and do not have many friends to refer me directly.
Tx.

Hi Wonder,
it usually works,- worked for me with Capgemini, Accenture, EDS, SAP, and AtosOrigin.
If you get back an email saying that they don't want you then that might be just the truth.
Good luck !

Thanks! I am applying to PWC through the website. Let's see how it goes.

I applied to PWC on Saturday and got the reject mail on the same day....
Strange .. never heard HR working on Saturdays!

I am in a similar boat, recently moved to London and started my job-search about three weeks ago. I have been working through agents but also did a few online appplications through websites to PA, MoW, Cap Gem and ACN. So far, all I have gotten is system generated, "Thanks for applying we will consider you CV" from the online apps (except for PA - where I received nothing confirming they even got the app!). Through the agents I have already had three interviews (PwC, Deloitte and a smaller MC) and am through to final round interviews at Deloitte and the smaller co. My advice - use an agent!

Fellow Job Seeker, can I ask what level your applying to? I'm not sure agents/HHs are able to offer the same kind of return, in terms of interviews, for graduates / 1-2 yr analysts.

Thanks for the information Fellas!
I am looking for a Consultant (non IT) or Project Manager (in IT Consulting) role. Already have been PM for 4 yrs in blue chip.
Fellow, can you suggest me where/which head hunters did you contact.. am really not sure I am tackling this all that well.
Thanks a lot! Greatly appreciate.

Casio, I have 5 yrs exp. so unfortunately can't comment on how useful agents are for 1-2 yrs exp.
Wonder, I have been pretty aggressive on my job-search (i.e. used lots of channels) as I relocated to London and don't really have much of a contact network. Essentially, I searched the job postings on this site and contacted the agencies that had the most positions advertised that were of interest to me. I also posted my CV on cityjobs and londonjobs, but landed up getting so many calls from various agents regarding 1)the same positions and 2)positions not in any way related to my experience, I am not sure this channel is that suitable!
Good luck and hope this info helps :)
