Hello,

I have accepted an offer with DC to start this august. I am interested in hearing from current graduates.

My question is as I am moving over from Ireland, do we definitely start in London or can we be placed in a project away from London straight after training. This information would be useful as I have to decide on whether to start apartment hunting or not. If so, what are the areas deloitte graduates tend to live in London?

Yes you can be sent absolutely anywhere but on the other hand you could be in London for a year - that's the consulting career. Talk to your scheduler and facilitators on the training to get yourself staffed if you have a preference, for say, public sector work based in London. My honest advice is to buy a place no matter how small (look at areas like Surrey Quays, Bermondsey, and New Cross) if you can rather than renting - at least you'll be paying a mortgage rather than making a landlord wealthier if you are based away from London. Try HSBC, Halifax and Abbey for mortgages.
