IT PM to Management Consultancy or Strategy?

I am currently working as a Project Manager for a fortune 500 company, have 4 yrs of PM experience and a masters in computing.

I have won many awards in my current role and have been involved in IT Strategy as well.

Now I want to move into Business Consultancy so that I can completely detach myself from IT. Floated my resume and applied but no luck..

Can anyone suggest how to approach consultancies and network with folks working..something like talking to desks in IB...?

Thanks for your response Anon. I have researched a little and would like to get into McK BTO or even Bain/BCG/ATK even though i have not applied.. guess too much to expect.

I have so far tried in PA/Coriolis/Xantus/Deloitte without luck. Guess I do not know how to sell my PM skills to a MC. Any kind of advice/help is greatly appreciated. Cheers!
