We have had several people in MCIM let go over the last few weeks. Is this going on elsewhere in Accenture?

I dont work in MC but my redundancy notice period from my employer is 12 months and redundancy payment is 1.75 x Final Annual Salary (175%)

do you think there will be more redundancies? what level are the people that Accenture have let go?

i've heard major culls planned in the weaker parts of MCIM & Strategy, i.e. resources /FS practices. Last time Consultant thru Sn Manager took the biggest hits. Anyone else heard any rumours?

haven't heard rumours about which groups might go, but i know 3 ppl who have gone, one c1 one c2 and a exp hire m1. the c's were si&t the m1 from top

Some C1 experience hire HP guy on my project was "let go" with 6 months paid garden leave and 2 months salary one-off payment after about a year in ACN. Could have been because he was a real w**ker though.

Maybe Accenture is a sinking ship.
Accenture's margins compare poorly with industry averages (2002-2006) + the weak performance in the Europe, the Middle East, Europe and Africa (EMEA), etc.

In MC I haven't heard much about people being let go but there seems to be a fairly significant number of experienced hires joining. The two don't tally well. Perhaps they are getting rid of the lower performers, perhaps they want to reduce headcount and that just hasn't filtered through to recruiting yet, perhaps they've realised taking on lots of people all the time means the bar drops and they're sacking more as a counter balance? Some of the 'Experienced Hire Inductions' earlier this year had 70+ people, and those happen every couple of weeks it seems, although it's probably about 1/3 to 1/2 that are consulting.

Its quite normal "counselling out" of lowest ~10%. Used to be much more common but due to attrition and enormous demand in last few years they haven't really done much of it.
Now we're back to the good old days when we can actually get rid of the chaff.

That sounds rather like you are discribing me! sorry you thought i was like that i'm rather sad to leave Accenture It wasn't for me but it's good fun all the same
