Does everyone get told they are a "strong" 2 at appraisals?

Strong two

My firm grades 1 - 4. 1 being leave now, 4 being god.

I got a 2 for the third consecutive appraisal -despite feedback being increasing effusive. Everyone else I know seems to get a 2 as well. I can accept some people getting a better score than me when I know they are better or good and the bell curve will always be a mystery. But when people I know are high performers get a 2 - and me too - I have to wonder if everyone gets told they are a high 2?

Anyone else got similar or different experiences?

anon to Strong two (#1)

Are you at PA?

Pa's bell curve puts about 65% of people in teh 2 bracket. A few years back I was at IBM and everyone was in the equivalent of the 3 bracket.

In PA though you do get the decimal score which is used to do bonus.
