Does anyone have any insights on what its like to work at CGEY in business transformation consulting?

yeah, its cr@p. CGE&Y is one of the worst employers I have been with and I'm desperately looking to get the hell out.

You must be in the NYC Financial office.

CGEY is not a bad employer. I was there for 3 years, but there is hardly any work in the public sector. You probabbly end on the bench and within 6 months out of work. You heard it here first!

As an ex gemini consulting guy I can say integration for CGEY has been very difficult, a lot of bad feelings exacrebated by three rounds of redundancies. Utilisation now is very high now so not sure what the other commentator gets his data from on public sector. If are into highend consulting then this may not be your place but for general consulting, its as bad as the rest. Promotion, very difficult at Managing consulting + end. Pay is probably not at par with industry.

a smaller growth company wld definetly be a better place as it wld give u more of a chance to climb the the ladder fast...having worked at the big 5 and now in a smaller consult can say the quality of work and responsibilities is much higher in the latter

Hell. See response in other thread (big vs small company)

Many people have an "outsight". For the few remaining :
- no strategy
- no respect
- no pay raise
- no future

As another ex-Gemini Consulting guy, with 13 years, I found CGEY to be a very dismal place to work. Alot of people looking over their shoulder and watching out for themselves. I would not reccomend it for starting a career in. After 13 years I got the door about a year ago, and the redundancies continue. There are very few, only a handfull of ex-Gemini left in the US firm, and they were the ones who knew about business transformation.

Hi Greg,
I have worked five years with CGEY (Gemini Consulting before the merger). I have decided to resign and change my job when I noticed that the group is going in the direction of IT and outsourcing projects. Business transformation is the new name for something that was call strategy and transformation before.
Now, it depends on what you are looking for in joining the business transformation in CGEY.
If you want to develop your business knowledge, work with company's boards, don't go there ! It is too late. Knowledgeable people in those areas are already working with other companies. CGEY no longer invests in strategic capabilities.
If you are interested in tool implementation, project management, CGEY is a good company to work with and you'll have the opportunity to develop.
I hope I helped you,
Best regards

Go there if you want to ne attached onto the side of a giant software implementation. Also go there if you don't mind not being listened to, don't want a payrise, have no career prospects, see people have a punch up over a hotdesk (absolutely true I'm afraid).
Anyone good has left
