It was fairly ok. You get to look at a case study then get 10mins interview on it and you have to suggest solutions. Then you discuss it in a group task. I was there on Tue and got offered the job today. Did not do any prep for it. Was not rocket science. Good luck

HI! I am having a first round interview next week. I was told that the earliest I can start work is January. Are you starting on January too?

Any tips on the first round interview are very welcome! Were you asked what Service Line/Industry you would like to join? Any advice is really welcome, Thanks! M

thanks a lot and well done. I am a bit worried about it :-(( because I really want this job. what kind of a case study was it? was it a 'real accenture case'? I have no idea how to prepare for it. I guess you cannot. at least they are very friendly. are you going to accept the offer? thanks. i.

I think first interview is to evaluate your personal skills and see if you have aptitude for consulting role. they are very friendly and it is really a chat -- nothing more to it. they didn't ask me about the service lines -- I think they do that in your second interview. good luck and be honest no matter what -- they like that. ida.

Hi Ida

Thanks a lot for the advice. I am a bit nervouse. Really want the job too, which adds pressure. Good luck with the second round. Wish you all the best and who knows, maybe we even start work at the same time! What areas (SL, industries) are you most interested in? M

I don't like Accidenture

Hi guys,

I do always wonder why people want to work for Accidenture so badly. They pay the lowest salaries, no bonuses, there are hardly any promotions, they laid off tons of people and forced even more to take a sabbatical... And their reputation is anything else but good! If you want to get a few more insights check out www.bigtimeconsulting.com - I guess you could call that their alumni page...

no problems, I know how stressful it is :((. just don't let nerves get to you although my interviewer was really really nice and as soon as I sat there to chat with her my worry went away. so be yourself and relaxed. all the best.

I am really interested in communications and high tech but so is everyone else I guess and that is their most popular service line. another option for would be financial services. maybe we shall meet in january -- I hope so :-)). ida.

hi. I'll have to disagree with you in respect with accenture. it is in my opinion one of the best companies to work for -- salary is ok( not the best) but you have a chance to grow in reasonable amount of time. it is very safe company as it shown in the most difficult times as 2002 -- yes they have laid some people off but not as nearly as much as others and look at their steady performance over the past few years and compare it with IBM( they have struggled much more) and they are meant to be THE COMPANY to work for ( but not for outsourcing and integration) I don't think.

Hi Ida,

Thanks again for the information. Actually I may be more interested in SCM or CRM SL than in the High-Tech area. However I kind of like to get an idea of all the areas if possible before deciding which SL to join. It looks like if I already had the job! I hope I can relax during the interview. Hope so. How long did it take for them to tell you that you passed to the second round? Sorry for all the questions! I wish I could help you with the 2nd round too. M.

no problems -- well I was told after a week or so ( very fast I was surprised). but as far as service lines are concerned I'll have to disappoint you :-(( --- I am afraid you are assigned to a SL at the beginning of your training so you do not have a chance during PDP to go for instance form FS -> high tech or so :-((. ida

Hi Ida

thanks for the info. Actually I was told that analysts join a particular operating group and not a SL from the begining. Good luck with your interview! I will post here whether I passed to the second round. Thanks again. M.

When you join as an analyst you will be in an operating group like FS or C&HT. When you move to consultant you then join a service line. It is possible to change operating group, if you have the interest and experience, and have some support from the group you want to join. Try and work on a real variety of assignments as an analyst to help you decide what service lines you'd like to join.

And good luck with your interviews!

I would say not to worry about the second round interviews - seriously they are very relaxed and straightforward, quite enjoyable actually - i deferred my place for a year (who wants to slave straight away?!) so maybe ill see you in august 2004! Good luck
