Careers Fair

Hard working consultant

Question for Tony and top-consultant or anyone else with helpful insights

Was not able to make it to the consultancy fair this year (as on client site). However I've been a couple of times in the past and thought it was v.well organised. Wondered if there were any insights available on-line please about

A. Industry trends

B. What type of skill-sets are in demand by firms attending

Not actively looking but it helps to keep in touch with what's going on out there!

Any thoughts on this please?

It is consulting related (unlike many of the posts on here!)

Tony Restell (Top-Consultant.com) to hard working consultant (#2)

Thanks for the positive feedback about previous fairs and sorry you missed this year's.

The dozen presentations given at the Fair will be available to watch online in the next week or so - will post the URL as soon as it is available. One of the presentations was given by the MCA, specifically on the latest trends in the consulting industry as a whole, so that one should be exactly what you are looking for.

Tony Restell (Top-Consultant.com) to hwc (#4)

The video recordings of the 11 presentations given at the Consultancy Careers Fair are now available to watch online. I promised to post an alert to this post when they became available:

<a href=http://www.top-consultant.com/CareerFair/2007/contents.asp>http://www.top-consultant.com/CareerFair/2007/contents.asp</a>

Hope these provide some good insights into the various firms - and also some answers to the eternal questions about Ernst & Young that appear on this forum!

ED to Tony Restell (Top-Consultant.com) (#8)

Edmonds is yet another ex-IBM partner leading up the "we're not an systems implementor, you know" mantra within E&Y.

The truth is that BAS have realised that they have missed a trick, and are now steadily trying to build an IT Systems practice. We await the announcement from the ex-IBM / ACN senior partners about "strategic realignment and focus on the needs of our C level customers" with baited breath !!!!
