Consultant in Accenture

Hi Mickael,

Good luck on the interview. Firstly, don't get confused. The High tech group does not exist. We have a market unit (industry unit) called Communications and High-Technology (known as Comms and Hi-tec in the firm). The GaCT group is a seperate "Service Line" that floats over all market units, not just the Comms and Hi-tec market unit. Just to clear that up.

I am not a "techie" myself, but would advise:

- Be honest, if you're there for the cash tell them. When they ask how long you want to stay, tell the truth. They do appreciate it. The last thing you want is to be stuck in the firm, and it not to be the right place for you.

- Be passionate about the technology (obviously). Where possible demonstrate your prior experience.

- Recongnise the market for technology solutions is changing. With the growth in "offshore" work in countries such as India we are under heavy pricing pressure. A good GaCT consultant will not just be a good techie, but must be able to work with the client as well (i.e talk the language of business too). That's why the client pays over the odds for us.

Good luck

Hi,

Thank you very much for your tips...They were really helpful as I've just been in touch with a recruiter from Accenture's office in Paris and confirm me that my application interest them..so now, it's the final steps of the recruiting process where I am supposed to be given a job offer..I dont have any idea about the average wage for an analyst and if my one year experience as a consultant will be considered!

Ciao

Mike,

The final interview is the Key. You must be short and precise (straight to the point). You will be asked WHY CONSULTING and

WHY ACCENTURE and you dont have to heasitate about it. Its also important what are your CAREER PROSPECTS. At my final interview at Accenture with a Partner I was asked " How I see myself in 10 years from now". My agressive answer was "On the other side of the desk" - He was happy to receive that answer but He reminded me that I had a long way to get it!.

Whatever you need mail me!.

Kindest regards,

Fred

Consultant in GACT France

Mickael,

When I started 4 years ago as an analyst I got 220.000 FF. I think that should now be around 250.000 FF. What company do/did you work for at the moment (1 year consulting)? They might credit you for your experience. What technologies have you already been working with? Did you get responsibilities? Which GACT specialties do you want to work for? Security, Business Intelligence, Web Services & Integration Architectures ect. Make sure you know them! If you go for either of the first two above and you have the right experience than you should stand a good chance. Good Luck!

"Mickael"

Hi,

I have a one year experience in the field of mobile technolgy, especially in the field of GSM & GPRS architecture. As a new graduate from the french engineering school ENST, I had no responsabilities. I mainly worked on GSM/UMTS network radio part optimisation and deployment as well as a technical support engineer in the GPRS Core Network imroving my skills both in wired and wireless networks. I start my new job as an analyst on the next month and I am really anxious about begining my new job. Well I still do't know what will be the client I'll be working for, in France or elsewhere and hox it is like when you make your first step within Accenture (period of integration, etc..) so if you have any information about it I would be thankfull.

I've been hired as an analyst in GACT paris Office within "Mobile Architecture" group within GACT. The salary is approximatively the one expressed above..I don't still now if I would be credited experience

Hi Fred,

As you've probably noticed it reading the message above, I've been hired as an GACT junior consultant within Accenture in Paris's office. I've quoted that you were currently working in south america. As i will be integrated to the "Mobile architecture" group within GACT and because I would like to work once again in Latin America, could you give me if there are position who would fit to me in this region.

Thank you in advance

Mike
