How tough is the jump from Associate to SA at BAH?

Does anyone know how long it would take an experienced hire going in as an A2 to get to SA1 in BAH?

Is there a quota? do you need to do something outstanding? is it an assumed progression (based on e.g. charge out rates?)...also, what would be the best way to tee myself up to get there in 12 months? e.g. can i agree on a clear career path with milestones over the next 12 months that would pretty much guarantee me the slot?

Any help from the inside would be massively helpful!

It depends into which practice you are joing and existing experience. What are you coming in with and into what, technology or strategy.

Strategy you should be able to do it in 2years or you will be out. technology its harder to amke the jump but there isn't an up and out culture

Its generally advisable to push to join as high as possible

thanks...will be joining the technology practice. i think there is some debate over whether i would be an A or SA as the feedback so far is that i am borderline. any ideas how i can better tee myself up to an SA position?
