getting in

I am a recent MBA Graduate in Management with a BS in Organizational Development, and I am trying to land an interview in the consulting field. However, my attempt has been quite unsuccessful and somewhat frustrating. Can somebody give any pointers on how to get my foot in the door with no prior consulting experience?

Hi, Change only your name on your CV to a Britsh one (test). You'll find a different (positive) response from recruitment consultants and firms. Racism, I would hope not, but it seems that way, Sorry. Even in a group excercise, they close their eyes before you can say "hello".

However, for our UK colleagues, this can be (segregation)based on almost anything after first interview. Common feedback is an exaggeration of weaknesses you don't have, or "you don't fit the Mould".

It has no reflection on your education. Some of the best consultants did not graduate from Expensive Uni's.

And I have met some pretty green recruits.

Alternative, find a small consultancy (they get your skills at a good price) and (you) build up experience.

Ofcourse, some people will read this and try everything to "fit the mould" and try to get in at any cost. They are the same kind of people that lie to their friends (eventually).
