HI all, Like many disgruntled Brits I'm considering making a move to Australia. What is consulting like over there for someone with 3 years experience with ACN. Who are the big players? Do I need a bit more experinece first???

thanks

I know that PWC have a huge presence in Oz. Not sure about their consulting practices though?!

G'day.

I want to go to Aus or NZ.

What is the cost of living comparison? If I wanted equivalent standard of living what sort of salary multiple should I consider? e.g. is it 1x, 0.8x, 1.5x?

I'm just looking for estimates of course.

While the basic currency conversions are roughly 2.4 for Australia and 2.75 for New Zealand the cost of living conversion and salary multiples will never be linear.

The best you could hope for is an internal transfer at your UK rate and capitalise on the exchange rates. Life is more expensive in those countries than most 1-year holiday makers may find.

I thought New Zealand was cheaper, my mate has moved there, got a big house, motor boat, he's living it up. If you had an equivant UK salary there you would be sorted.

What do you guys think?

I'd speak to your HR rep then. They may need someone in Melbourne, seems like a lot going on out there
