Tom

What's the latest on Accenture?

Good place to work, or not? I'm talking specifically about the 'business consulting' side.

Not. Hired 45,000 people internationally in past 18 months. Insiders complain of having to roll people off projects because of incompetence and poor hiring decisions.

"insiders" - i.e. you're NOT an insider. Perhaps you're not qualified to talk...

Was I trying to pass myself off as one? I thought everyone was entitled to an opinion--at least, on this board, everyone thinks so. Shame, love, are you lonely or just frustrated?

Why the sour face? Didn't seem as though Tom sought feedback from insiders only. Lighten up a little. What makes you think your opinion is worth anything?

my understanding from a friend who's in Accenture is that they recently had some change in their organization structure. It might be good to find out what the new definition of "Business Consulting" unit is, compared to the old one. i.e. is BC = Strategy/management consulting? or is BC = categorization for people with no deep/specific technical skills? i.e. change management etc.?

Anyone with more info? (because i'm no insider...)

My opinion? I don't believe I offered my opinion.

the organsiaitonal structure means very little in terms of day to day running. BC people will continue to do the same type of owrk they are doing now...(strategy, CRM, HP, etc). the organsiaitonal strucutre is just changing allignment of people to what will now be referred to BC growth platform. Current workforces, work groups and specific alignments will continue to exist. thus the organsaitonal structure changes will have very little bearing on the type of work BC does. its still a good pratice to be involved with in my opinion.

well to be honest, as of September this year BSI will cease to exist. it will be SI&T (Systems Integration and Technology). this is all due to hte organsiational re-structuring. thus i'm not sure if its the place you want to be in if you want to pursue strat consulting in the future. i would target business consulting more for those interests.
