It depends on the level that you come in at NewExpHire. It's generally only new (grad entry) analysts who are allocated used laptops.
I was recently upgraded and given the option of an HP standard or lightweight nc2400 (which is the standard kit being rolled out now). Incidentally im a Senior Manager. Everyone at Manager level above automatically gets a phone. As Mike says, under Manager level depends on whether you need it for your project. But there is a pretty good deal that anyone in the firm can take up with Vodaphone.
