Accenture Hopeful

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone knew the most common reasons for graduates failing their 2nd round interviews?

Also, what is the main function of the manchester office? Although i do not mind travelling at all, being based in manchester would be great and I just wondered if all areas are covered here or just certain ones (like products or government)

DOING WHAT THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO, IN ANOTHER WAY DOING WHAT ACCENTURE IS NOT LOOKING FOR.

HEY TRY TO BE COOL, CALM AND COLLECTED. FINE YOU ARE SMART TO MAKE IT THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND NOW MAKE SURE YOU ARE YOURSELF IN A PROFESSIONAL WAY. ALSO DURING THE GROUP DISCUSSION IS NOT A DEBATE TRY TO GET EVERYONE INVOLVED, NO WHEN TO LEAD, WHEN TO LISTEN, WHEN TO ENCOURAGE OTHERS AND BE CREATIVE.

GOOD LUCK IMAGINE THE TIMES YOU ARE AT THE DINNER TABLE AND YOUR DAD GOES LIKE "HOW COME YOU ARE DOING SO AND SO SON" BEFORE HE FINISHES YOU ARE TRYING TO WIN THE ARGUMENT BUT HE KEEPS HIS COOL LET YOU FINISH BLABING WHATEVER YOU WANT AND THEN HE PUTS SOME WISDOM INTO YOUR HEAD SO AT THE END HE DID NOT FORCE HIS POINT, HE WAS LISTENING TO YOUR JARGON AND AT THE END HE PUT HIS POINT ACROSS. WE ALL WANT TO WIN A CONVERSAION FORMAL OR INFORMAL BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT IN THE SECOND ROUND AND IN LIFE. WHICH I FEEL IS ONE OF THE MAJOR THINGS THAT FAIL PEOPLE BUT MAKE SURE U ARE CREATIVE ALSO AND BUILD GOOD RAPPORT WITH EVERYONE I MEAN IT ACCENTURE LIKE NICE PEOPLE

Thank you so much for the reply, it has really helped me! I have been worried because i am a really down to earth normal run of the mill person from an average back ground and all my fellow students have been winding me up about everyone else at the assessment being stuck up and over confident and full of themselves!

I aim to just be myself and I'm looking forward to the group work because, although i have the initiative and confidence to lead, i feel i excel more in a motivational role! I think alot of people go into this viewing it as a competition and thinking that they have to shout loudest and be the best to get through! I aim to try to aid the groups dynamics and motivate everyone into contributing! 4 heads are better than one! It would be great to get through and really shine in my team, but i would feel even better if i helped others to shine too!

Really looking forward to my 2nd round now! thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me, it's helped me so much regain focus of what is really important!

Also forgot to mention offer some help during the exercise like "ask if they want to write or should you contribute to writing". The fact is we dont always act like that in real life, i dont care what anyone says no matter how down to earth one is sometimes you are just not nice or you dont feel like, but then they people will know when you are fake so try to be real but act nice. In order ways bring the best of yourself for that 2 hours and I mean crack jokes and all that. When I went for mine a year or will i say 2 now, I was cracking jokes not too much but having fun and at a point in time one of the managers and luckily was the main assesor of the day had to say to me i like the way you are having fun and enjoying the day without stressing so much. I wasnt care free but i was having fun so try to be that nice to all
