Katalina J Szombath

I am tryng to set myslef up in the UK as a free-lance Cultural Consultant. I have two Masters Degrees and several years of research completed in the field of European Culture, and I am also an experienced Linguist and I have a great many years of experience of living and working in Europe (in Eastern Europe and Russia in particular) in various sectors. I am able to offer research, analysis, studies, and develope recommendations and I have written some original studies. I feel that I have a great deal to offer I have had some interesting work in the recent years in Cultural Training and Consulting but I find it hard to develop a full time career in this area. Can anyone give me some advise and suggestions how to proceed?

I'd suggest contacting the FCO and other large multinationals with Expats such as Shell, Unilver etc. The cultural expertise you outline is mainly of use in this area. Also, the MoD has done some work on helping multinational forces work better together via their consultants at QinetiQ.

Try contacting "Farnham Castle" in Surrey (see their website). They do excellent multi-cultural, cross-cultural training/ consulting and use external consultants (I think) to assist inhouse people. Previous organisations I have worked with have used them for this kind of work. Hope this is of some help.
