Fustrated

I am worried by a couple of my applications that I have had no response from.

One firm in particular: I applied, then three weeks later followed up with a phone call and confirmed that my CV had been passed onto recruitment and I would get a reply 'shortly', three weeks later I sent another follow up email, and that was two weeks ago and still nothing.

Shall I give up and assume that they aren't interested? Do applications frequently just get absolutely NO replies? Are firms really that busy? I would have thought a two line 'Thank you but no' wouldn't be too hard to do...

JJ to Fustrated (#1)

1) Get used to it. Hardly anyone replies to job applications any more.

2) Follow up - especially those of most interest. I phoned Accenture after 2 months and they said I was marked on their computer as "invite for interview" but they somehow forgot to let me know.

anon to JJ (#2)

Good advice about phoning.

3) It should be easier though to get back to people given the technology available, not more difficult.
