The UK redundancies are purely within the outsourcing part of the business and does not cover CS.
These redundancies were all part of agreements with the outsourcing clients that we would trim certain areas of the 'tupe'd' business.
"You say they only offer services to exisiting outsourcing clients. Do they not get involved in business development / proposition creation to new clients?"
Business development for new clients is normally handled by either the more senior managers (again, with exisiting EDS clients), or by a dedicated sales unit which is not part of CS. CS simply add thier expertise in the approriate areas of proposals, and raraly see any commision. But as I said, there areplans affot to change this to make sales/busdev part of the consultants role.
