curious

Can a career within one of the big 4 audit companies be cosidered as a consulting career?

DC

Well, not if you work in their audit practices... Deloitte for example is split into 4 "service lines" of which one is "Consulting" (actually a separate company). The rest is mainly accounting of one sort or another and I hope it isn't news to you that accounting is not the same as consulting.
