Is the big D trying to play for real?

#1 Is the big D trying to play for real?

Hi all,

Ive just heard that Deloitte has relaunched its Strategy arm - deviding it from its old 'strategy and operations' practice. Ive been told it now wants to be a more 'blue sky' pure strategy group - to compete with the usual suspects of bain, mck, bcg etc.

Has anyone any opinions / insight into this? Thanks

cons

Didn't they buy Burlington consultants a while ago as part of their CTS team?

Ex-Deloitter

This is accurate. They've been moving there for a year. Made some interesting Partner hires as well (especially in FS)and (last I knew) 1 very interesting one in the pipeline which probably hasn't been announced yet.

Seem to be doing it right as well i.e. moving from Strategy being a service the Client Partners sell in, to Startegy being the Client Partners who sell in other services. That's the aspiration anyway. They will go through a bit of pain to get to that though.
