... with the big boys?
discuss.
|
Go on then, who do you mean by "the big boys"?
|
I can't help it,.. I am a little curious...
a. did PA by any chance turn you down when you applied?
b. do you actually wish you did work there (sour grapes..)?
c. who are "the big boys" anyway?
d. ... and why would working there be any better?
|
Je deteste le grapes sour, in a Steve Martin out of Pink Panther french accent.
"I want damburguueeer"
|
I once auditioned for the Big Boys, but they said I was too middle class...

|
The REAL management consultancies, like Accenture, KPMG, Roland Berger.
and yes i had an offer from PA, rejected it to at cap gemini
|
Oh I see !!
I thought you meant these guys:

I heard that they have a jazz band in ISI though that are due to play at the next sailing regatta. Don't know if they'd be quite as racous as The Big Boys though !!!
:-))
|
Because I don't really think KPMG has a consulting division anymore...
"rejected it to at cap gemini" you mean you rejected Cap Gemini too? I'm sure you know what you are trying to say anyway!
So what's your beef with PA?
|
To help us understand the "big boys" classification better, could you tell us which consultancies fall into the "big girls", "little girls" and "little boys" categories. By process of comparison, we might be able to help you place PA into that matrix.
|
"i had an offer from PA, rejected it to at cap gemini"
What does this statement mean ?
Luckily for you, your new employer seems to hire illiterates with a chip on their shoulder. You should do very well there.
|
arf! so you mean you've gone to do help desk support / apps dev on an outsource. well done you.
|
Big doesn't mean it's better. Just look at ACN's recent bad press. Also I wouldn't include the Strats houses like McK, BCG, BAH et al in the category of big boys. More niche than big, but given the opportuntity we would all give a pound of flesh to work at such a place.
|
I hope you can show me examples to the contrary, but I have never seen a british press story about Accenture's client engaements which is positive.
Even in a recent news story about them winning the contract with Unilever, it is spun in a negative light:
http://www.theregister.com/2006/04/11/unilever_chooses_accenture/
"There may be trouble ahead"
The important thing is that Accenture is a Forbes hot tech pick for 2006 - so as a business it is performing admirably.
|
"Project completed on time and within budget" is not a very exciting headline.
|
I've got it ask The Weather Girls:

'It's Raining Men' an ACN enabler to add some variety to their training workshop sessions? It's got to be considered a real competitor!
