Catering to SMEs & starting something fresh

Michael

I was wondering if there was any interest out there in developing an advisoy catering to the SME market, say atacking firms with annual revs of $10-$200.

Putting together a sales and delivery model to be replicated in large metro aras, such an idea could sprout up in various places simultaneously on a small scale at first, using local talent. For example an area could first be supported by director, sales manager, three consultants to one analyst, etc.

With a localized concept to a naional campaign and service offering this would be well under the radar of larger consultancies, especially if charging $2-300/hour (= $150K+ for consultants/year min.), depending on services.

Just a thought, curious if there was any interest if a) to assist with starting such a thing, b) to be employed by such an enterprise, and c) whether this market intruiges anyone.

Best to all.

Interesting idea - I would be very interested in getting involved. I have a background in IT and management mostly with small companies - setting up and running. I've also just completed an MBA and am looking into consulting specialising in IT & general business management - also focused on SMEs. Mail me if you're interested in discussing this further - kalpesh.morar@kalconsulting.co.uk - I am currently based in the UK but will be moving to the US shortly.

Michael,

Yes to all the above. Email me directly as would like to discuss this with an added angle of incubation/restart/recovery advisory panel I'm putting together.

Regards,

Denis

In the UK a lot of this is government funded.

We have had framework agreements in the past but found it a very difficult market to be profitable in.

I wish you better success.

hi, I would be very interested to consider this idea. I have considerable experience of advising SME in the south yorkshire area. My experience has largely consisted of export development, ICT and innovation. I have dealt with manufacturing, engineering, small cutlery firms and large steel producing sme. Please contact me should you wish to discuss this further. Many thanks.
