Hi!
I am finishing my PhD in bioinformatics, and wonder how much opportunity there is for a carreer start in consulting, and which firms are more likely to hire this kind of profile (in contrast to economy/business ones).
Thanks

Most firms have some sort of Pharma / Life Sciences division, so I'd check the websites of all the usual suspects - Accenture, IBM, CG, PA, etc

Contact onlymedics.com, they are recruiting at the moment for McKinsey for consultants in the healthcare practice....assuming you know a little about the pharma/biotech/UK healthcare sector, learn if you don't or else you won't have a sniff. Also, how were your school grades? McKinsey will want those too, PhD or not.

Ths only medics seems to be recruiting only physicians...I am molecular biology researcher. Not sure it's going to be satisfying...or is it?
Thanks anyway

Hi Stephanie! I have a PhD in biochem, and last year received offers from BCG, McK and LEK. They were all very interested in hiring good PhD's, and not just for their life sciences practice (well, LEK did, but at McK and BCG you are a generalist first and then you decide where you want to go). Good luck!
