Hello all,
I have a final stage interview with HR and then an executive at Accenture very soon for a Consulting position.
Does anybody have any tips? What do these interviews entail?
Many Thanks,
Fay

yes.
Gov here at acn = by defenition NHS. so BEWARE of what youre getting into.
If you laugh this email off, just remember me when your in Leeds 6 moths from now doing mon - friday for the next 4 years.
turn away! ( prodcuts is a much better OG)

I have second that. If you are looking for long-term assignments in unglamorous bleak Northern English towns including Telford, Newcastle and Leeds then Government at ACN is for you.
On the upside you'll get accommodation paid for and possibly a per diem, so your daily living costs will be extremely low.

Hmm...
Thanks guys for the tips. Yes, I am well aware of the North England NHS thing with ACN. They asked me where I prefer working, I said London. And I'll tell them again in the interview - LONDON! I think they advertised positions for Newcastle and London, so hopefully it'll be London for me.
Hmm.. yes I was a bit weary of going into Gov. Consulting, and Products would be better for me I think. But I've been with a gov. contract now for 1.5 years with another big consultancy, hence the interest in me.
I wonder, is it possible to change your business operation (Gov - Products) once in? How easy is that to do and is it done quite often?
Also, any advice as to what to expect for the executive interview?
Thanks.

Thanks John, et al.
But do consultants in ACN normally work on contracts in different sectors? Or are projects for a Gov. Consultant restricted to the Gov sector?
In my experience, I have only ever worked in my home sector for 3 months over the 2 years I've been with my consultancy.
Thanks,
Fay

You can change operating groups but this is usually at the lower ranks e.g. A1/A2 (analysts). Gov consulting in ACN is NHS nothing more. There are a handful of roles in London and everybody wants those.
<br>Products is pants too - just look how they messed up the Sainsburys project. Market Max anyone?

Well, I do appreciate all the feedback.
I can understand how bitter some people are about ACN. I understand and appreciate that. For me, it is a good move (certain details pending, i.e. location) and I am looking forward to the interview.
I think most of my questions regarding working for ACN and different OGs have been answered.
My upcoming HR interview seems straight forward to me. Now, can anyone tell me what to expect in the Executive Interview please? Any help or insights at all would be most valued.
Thanks,
Fay

Fay,
How did your interview go with Accenture?
|
Hi,
1) you can not change OG especially from Gov, becuase they are bleeding for staff.
2) if your base is london, the only sad thing that will mean is thats wehre your empty apartment will be. lots of my mates from here in london have been in leeds for years.
3) are you in strategy? this would change circustances greatly
4) the executive interview will be a breaze, a chat / case study with a senior manager / partner. be positive, smile, and use words like 'value' 'synergy' and 'high perfomace' ever 5 seconds.
also, be sure to listen VERY carefully when your interviewer identifies himself to better change your answers ( ie if he is CHT cv products vs Gov)
and also, please be realistic in that you WILL go to the NHS. it is thier biggest contract and 45% of the workforce is deployed there. hope this helps.
