Economic Analyst looking for direction.

#1 Economic Analyst looking for direction.
17/04/2002 00:00

Kemi

I am looking to get into Economic/Business Consultancy. I have a 2.1 degree in Applied Economics and Masters degree in Economic Policy Analysis from the University of Nottingham in Dec 2001. I am 24 years old.

Since my Masters degree, I have been working for Transco as a Demand Analyst (Economics) for six months. This role includes the provision of economic analysis in support of the Business Planning process (reports, analysis). As well as the development of econometric models to enable extensive modelling of all the demand growth drivers in different market sectors.

However, the imposition of tough cost cutting measures on Transco by the gas industry regulator OFGEM has meant that Transco has not been able to convert my contract into a permanent position.

I am due to begin a World Trade Organisation Internship (Economic Analysis) in June 2002 and looking to secure permanent employment on my return from Geneva, Switzerland in August 2002.

I have key analytical skills and competencies which are conducive to public sector, economic, regulatory, business consulting and also as an Energy Analyst.

I would appreciate any ideas, useful links and also contact from recruitment agencies. Thanx.
