CGEY made 280 (approx) people redundant in the UK in June last year. They then went on to make a further 900 redundant in January this year (they had originally asked for 750 voluntary redundancies - over 1000 applied but they found they needed quite a few of them!).
Being made redundant from CGEY was a bizarre experience, especially since I found that my skillset was in great demand within the company! The main problem is that CGEY was in total disarray following the E&Y merger. In the year that I was with them I had three Managers and two mentors (I met two of them..).
When I was made redundant my manager didn't even know!!
I'm currently working for a small IT solutions provider/consultancy mainly designing and developing Oracle solutions for the telecoms industry. If anyone feels they have any suitable vacancies please get in touch!!
