Toohats

You wouldn't be the lead partner at IBM's change management practice, would you?

It was most probably a joke. How do you define 'best' in this context, please?

yup

Well, I'm trying to move my career into change management consulting, and I need a book that will take me through the processes of change management. So preferably a step by step guide. Do you know of any?

Thanks.

There isn't a bible book on the subject of change management that I'm aware of (other than of course the New Testament itself!). Also not sure how much existing management understanding you have - you appear to have a fair bit.

Alot of people approach it from the angle of 'which CM approach?', but you are looking at 'how?'. The Hard Side of Change Management in Lead Change Successfully (HBR) would be a possibility, but you might find it's like jumping in at the deep end. Read it with a book from a reputable publishing house (e.g. FT) covering the different Approaches/Types/Styles by way of an introduction, as alot came out about 5 years ago in that area (google it). Also look at top strategy consulting sites and get some leads from there. Sorry pushed for time - GL
