Can anyone suggest how best to prepare for case study interviews? Where can I find examples? Any tips on what to do and what not to do? Thanks for your help! Robert

Robert. Try the McKinsey website - www.mckinsey.com/careers/apply/interviewingtips/casestudy/ which has tips and examples. If you want to talk thru anything, call me at BLT on +44 207 419 0909. Good luck. Don

An excellent tool that we recommend for our candidates is a book called "Management Consulting" by Sugata Biswas and Daryl Twitchell. Some of its content may be slightly dated particularly after the last year's slump in consultancy, but it has a very good guide to case studies at the back including tests and answers. You could also look at the SHL website which has some practice tests on there for reasoning tests.

One of the best resources out there is Wet Feet publications. Go to www.wetfeet.com and look for the materials specifically for case studies. They give examples as well as good and bad answers. The real key is to practice, so that when the question comes you are comfortable and can really show them how you think.

Robert,

I've designed and run Case Study Interview sessions in the past. They are usually unique and have the objective of sorting out the 'I can talk about it but cannot do' candidates from the 'I can walk the talk candidates'.

If you fit into the latter, relax, you know your stuff. The case study will be like a real exercise and should be no problem.

If you fit into the former, a good prayer may help.

Regards

Mike
