Where is the best place to advertise when starting a consultancy business? I have a website but trying to get visitors is proving difficult.

Here is an article from Consulting Café that I found useful:

http://www.consultingcafe.com/articles/8-tips-for-independent-consultants-to-jump-start-business

It gives tips on how to build your network and create an image for yourself.

Nick have you looked at your site to make sure it is SEO optimised? No point having a site if no one can find it unless directed there. You will also find that getting involved in social media and linking the url will pump it up the result rankings. Useful. But if you are a new business key will be getting the product - you - out to potential customers, and the only way to do that is pick up the phone and present yourself, starting with people you know who could use your firm or contacts who may be able to refer you into a project.
